McDonald’s is a known and loved fast food brand in the world including in countries where muslim are majority, Indonesia for instance. According to data in May 2020 they have 227 stores spread across Indonesia. Their listed price are affordable for most of the people – started from Rp12.000.
Muslim customers need no worry about its menu, because since 1994 McDonald’s Indonesia has become the first fast food restaurant that have halal certification. Even we can say that McDonald’s is the first international fast food restaurant in Indonesia that got halal certification from MUI. As a side note, at 1994 halal certification hasn’t become a trend like today in Indonesia. Thus it shows McDonald’s commitment to enter a market where muslim as majority.
In their site page, McDonald’s Indonesia stated, “Our Halal Certificate is our priority. Our food has undergo strict guidance in accordance to halal certification. We served food with quality, safety, and halal to be eaten.
Each and every year McDonald’s always give their prime service to each customers. McDonald said through their Associate Director of Communications that McDonald’s existence is to add choice for the people through their innovative and variative menus.
In each of McDonald’s stores, you can found facilities like free wifi, party room, drive thru, play land, sufficient parking lot, and toilet. Aside that, McDonald also equip their stores with Self Ordering Kiosk (SOK), in which customers can immediately access the menu and pay by themselves whether with debit or credit card.
Last by not least, is the musholla facility (muslim prayer room); McDonald pay serius attention of this facility, understanding that muslim customer must preform 5 times a day prayer. This facility not only for their staffs or customers, but also for the public. They even put the sign for the musholla prominently in front of their stores.
